Hugo Naber (Woerden, The Netherlands 1978) graduated bachelor fine art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (Amsterdam, NL) as a graphic designer. Fascinated by film throughout his creative career however Hugo started up to make two short fiction films, as producer and director. Last year he made the short ‘Kissinger, The Last Hurrah’. At SNG Film Hugo is working as junior producer on the film ‘LEONIE – actress and double agent’ by director Annette Apon, a film about Leonie Brandt, an actress who used her talents to become a Dutch double agent. Other projects of SNG Film at the moment are KALA-A-ZAR by visual artist Janis Rafa, and MENGELBERG by Peter Delpeut and scriptwriter Stan Lapinski. KALA-A-ZAR will be shot in Greece in the beginning of 2019 and is a co-production with Athens-based production company Heretic. MENGELBERG, still in development, is inspired on the last years of conductor Willem Mengelberg. At The International Film Festival Rotterdam Hugo will be part of Rotterdam Lab 2019 during the 36th edition of CineMart and will take part in the Visitors Programme of The Berlinale Co-Production Market 2019.
